The Story of the Blarney Stone

There are many stories of the origin of the Blarney Stone, but most of them have the same outcome. The owner of Blarney Castle was due to pay taxes to the Queen of England, because Ireland was under British control at the time. He did not want to pay anymore taxes to the Queen because he earned his money fairly, so he did not feel that England should keep taking his, and Irishman’s, money.

He came across this stone, a Blarney Stone, which he put in his castle as part of a wall (at the top of the castle). He was told that if he kissed it, he would be gifted with eloquent speech. Before he was due to meet with the Queen, he kissed the stone.

The Queen traveled to his castle, and he gave her a six-hour long speech about the taxes he was due to pay to her. She was so astounded, that he did not have to pay the taxes. Thus, if you kiss the Blarney Stone, you will be gifted with eloquent speech.
