- There is a single market. This means that there was a significant reduce in price of many products and services, including internet access and airfares.  There was also a 40% drop in the price of phone calls between 2000 and 2006. This market helped create 2.8 million new jobs.

-There are four freedoms of movement: goods, services, people, and capital.

-There are no police or customs checks when you travel within EU borders. (Control is strengthened at EU external borders)

-Over 2 million young people have studied or pursued personal development in other countries with support from EU programs.

-You can bring goods back across EU borders.

-The countries abide by “federal” laws and then implement as “country laws” (similar to the national and state governments of the US).

-There is more cooperation between the police forces.
