Staying Fit on the Ship

Staying fit on the ship can be as easy or as difficult as you make it. You need to make a designated schedule, and then just follow it. For example, try to do a certain routine or exercise on A days, and then a different routine or exercise on B days. This helps you keep on your work out schedule.

The ship always has salads if you're worried about the famous pasta and potatoes that SAS has. You have the option to eat healthy! There is always a fruit offered for dessert too, so you don't have to choose the fatty dessert.

There is a gym on the seventh deck of the ship, as well as a basketball court/volleyball court. This is pretty much open 24/7. It is sometimes hard to use the treadmill when we are sea, especially when the swells are very large on that day. Try to keep this in mind!

The ship is full of people who want to work out. There will be yoga sessions on the ship. Many people on my voyage started a cross-fit class. Try to see if anyone on your voyage wants to do these things with you, chances are, they will! You're not alone with the desire to stay fit. Many of the students are also athletes, so they are required to have a certain work-out schedule. The key to working out on the ship is to find a routine that works for you, and stick with it.
