Cuban Interport Student

·         There are 16 provinces and one municipality.

·         The University of Havana was founded in the 1700s.

o   There are 18,000 students, where only 6,000 study full-time.

o   There are 18 departments

o   They have 33 different majors to choose from

o   The Caribbean Games are a sports competition held annually at the University of Havana with the participation of the student athletes from all departments of the Higher Education Center. The logo identifies the games is the head of the Caribbean Indian from one of the first inhabitants of Cuba when Columbus landed in Cuba in 1492.

o   Every year, the university has a festival of amateur artists.

o   The first day of classes every year, they climb the steps of the university.

·         The University Students Federation was founded on December 20, 1922 by Julio Antonio Mella. It is an umbrella organization for Cuban university students, representing their interests and enforcing rights already won by the student body.

·         Typical Cuban Food: Brown rice, pork, chicken, French fries, fried bananas, and salads. They have pork on New Year’s Eve.

·         Industriales is the baseball team of the capital and is represented as a lion.
